An important adjunct of Connacher’s oil sands activities is our continuing involvement in the conventional crude oil and natural gas business in Western Canada. Our conventional properties are a source of revenue, cash flow and provide credit capacity.
Our conventional natural gas properties are located at Marten Creek, Randall, Seal, Three Hills, Gilby and Latornell, all in Alberta. We also produce light oil in Three Hills and Gilby and medium gravity crude oil at our Battrum, Saskatchewan property.

Due to current and anticipated requirements for natural gas at our SAGD oil sands plants, to date our primary focus has been on producing and developing natural gas reserves and production, aimed at providing the company with a physical hedge against volatile price fluctuations in the natural gas market. Connacher is natural gas self-sufficient for Great Divide Pod One, in that it produces more than the amount of natural gas that it consumes at Pod One.
