Connacher is a Calgary-based in-situ oilsands producer. Connacher’s principal asset is a 100 per cent interest in Connacher’s Great Divide oil sands leases near Fort McMurray, Alberta. Connacher operates two SAGD facilities at Great Divide and is currently executing a near term development plan to increase and maintain production of approximately 23,000 bbls/day.

Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD)
Connacher utilizes steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) to recover bitumen. This allows the extraction of bitumen from oil sands formations, located approximately 475 meters below surface. Connacher is not engaged in oil sands mining. SAGD is demonstrated in the diagram below.
